Time to clean out the pantry

Start getting rid of junk that probably never should have been there in the first place, but then again, it was the holidays, or almost Christmas, or a relative brought/made it, or “Who cares right now? I’ll care in January!” — yeah, all that junk. I have it too. If you made it through December with clean eating (and drinking), then I would like to give you a Medal of Honor. Really.

And start that menu/list of what you will eat this next week (and month hopefully and then on and on). For me, I made up a new healthy recipe that my sweet daughters loved too (that’s saying a lot!). Picture below – I’ll call it Honey Garlic Shrimp with Veggies.

Then I got to juicing again to make up for my past sins of the holidays (Gonna need a LOT of juice!) Here’s a few of my favs:

1) Sweet and Dandy from Melivins’ Juice Box in NYC —
1 beet, 1 carrot, 1 thick pineapple ring, 1 piece of ginger, 1/2 lemon (peeled), and 2 Granny Smith apples. Delish! Beet juice is especially great after a workout for increasing oxygen levels. Usually tastes terrible, but this recipe is yummy.
2) then from One Lucky Duck in NYC’s Chelsea–
beet, pineapple, pears, and ginger
3) an easy one made up in my kitchen in Fort Mill, SC —
carrots, pineapples, beet

And of course, my all-time favorite SMOOTHIE: the Anna-Banana!
3 cups of almond milk, 1 heaping TBSP Cocoa Powder, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use About Time from AMAZON – watch out for fake sugar in protein powders), 1 frozen or fresh banana, 1 handful of ice, o1 handful of kale, 1 TBSP of almondbutter.
