One thing several of us have learned from doing this boot camp- nutrition -paleo-style eating in the past months is this: sometimes we simply don’t eat enough. Sometimes when you stare into the pantry or fridge, and your body is telling you it’s time to eat, but we aren’t sure what to eat, or don’t have anything prepared, we decide “It must be easier to simply skip eating altogether…”
Hmmmm…do not fall into this trap, or you will collapse at your next workout. I know I have bonked during a workout that I should have made it through, and then thought back to what I ate (or didn’t eat) earlier that day, and it all made sense.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ is a great tool to help you track your food and calories if you like. I would love if you keep track of your food in some form – either paper, your phone, or download this app or use the website. The first couple days are the hardest to input your regular food, and then it’s so easy after that. This is where I learned that I wasn’t taking in enough calories last time I did the boot camp. There is a place to log in your workouts too, but those are tricky because it lists cardio and strength training as “separate workouts”, which I think you know we are doing both. 🙂
Please feel free to post comments to help your group and other groups. We can all learn from each other. What’s the hardest part about eating this way for you?
